Intramural Program Information

Nether’s Intramural program provides young players with fun, skills building and teamwork organized into age-appropriate divisions. Players are led by trained parent volunteer coaches . These coaches provide players with soccer fundamentals, sportsmanship & teamwork while also introducing your child to new friends and experiences.

Nether Soccer, long known as the area’s leading soccer organization, partners great kid-friendly, healthy activities designed to teach children the #1 youth sport in the US, with a higher quality and well-organized program that consistently provides fun and new soccer skills to  local children each season.

Our annual schedule has Fall Intramurals registration opening from late July - late Aug 25 and Spring Intramurals registration open from Feb  - mid March . Spring season is late March through mid-May and our Fall season is the week after Labor Day through the second week in November, providing weekly practice & Saturday morning games. All activities take place at Wallingford area fields. Petites are one weekday practice only-no Saturday games.

Needed for this program are volunteers for coaching, assistant coaching & field lining. If you have an hour a week to help your son/daughter & their friends, please indicate which volunteer role you’d like to fill when registering your player.

For more than 55 years, Nether Soccer has been providing local children the opportunity to play America’s most popular youth sport and have evolved and improved to bring your child the best developmental and most fun program in the Delaware County and nearby area.

The Intramural Program is designed primarily for the recreational soccer player ages 3 to 13 years old. All Intramural games utilize US Youch Soccer's recommended small-sided games with scaled down fields and goals being used. This enhances each player's experience with more 'touches' on the ball and being more engaged with the game. Standings and scores are not kept in any intramural games.

Important Additional Information:

  • Any requests such as specific teammates or to be on a specific coach's team - PLEASE KNOW, we do not meet these requests as we believe in changing teams each season and year to allow the players to have new experiences and to ensure a balance of new and existing players. Additionally, our new format will have everyone in the same age group practicing on the same night and field.  With this change we have eliminated the car pool request within the program.

Intramurals are organized into divisions based on a child's age and gender. The age can be a tricky one as soccer is based on a child's age on 7/31 of the year upcoming. So for 2019 Fall season, it's the age of the child on 7/31/2020:

Petite – 8/1/15 - 7/31/17  3-4 year old

Papoose- 8/1/14 - 7/31/16    4-5 year old

Mini- 8/1/12 – 7/31/14   6-7 year old

Novice – 8/1/09 – 7/31/12    8-10 year old

Majors -  8/1/06- 7/31/09    11-13 year old

We do get questions about playing down in age at the younger ages and we appreciate the requests but ask you 'trust the process' of keeping players with kids near to their own birthday. Intramurals is a fun, not intense program designed for all players to have fun. The caring parent coaches and professional trainers will ensure the children enjoy themselves and experience failure and success to help them learn new things.
