Brief History
Baseball
Our Baseball program has experienced many changes over the past 6 years. In 1993 we hosted only 24 teams and 365 children. Today we proudly host over 40 teams with enrollment of player over 500 children. The recent advent of player development clinics, and summer camps have greatly improved our competitive growth and skill levels. Our 1998 12 year old "All Stars" won the township's first ever post-season tournament with a victory in Chi-Chester's annual All Star Tournament. Adding to achievements of 1998 include a second place trophy in Brookhavens's All Star Tournament. Yes ... Baseball is back in Nether Providence.
NPAA Soccer has literally put Nether Providence on the map at the national level. Strath Haven's High School Boys' team have won four AAA state championships in six years placing numerous players in Division 1 collegiate programs. In addition the Strath Haven's lady panthers won their first ever AA state championship in 1997. The success of these programs could not have been possible without such an outstanding "feeder" program.
NPAA Soccer has grown form 100 players on six teams in 1965 to over 1500 players on over 100 teams registered in 1998. The vision, the persistence, and the credit goes to Bob Urban. Thank you Bob for thirty-one years of steadfastly advancing the quality of the soccer experience for this community's youth.
