Thom Schauerman is excited

Thom Schauerman is excited to start a new journey as the Goalkeeper Director for both Nether United FC and 1776 FC.  After spending 5 years at YSC as the head GK Coach and GK Trainer with the Philadelphia Union Juniors and Philadelphia Union Academy Programs where he coached and trained now professional goalkeepers Zach Steffen (SC Freiburg II) and Pablo Sisniega (Real Sociedad)  he has signed on with NP United F.C.  and 1776 as the clubs GK Director, Team Trainer and u9 Girls Travel Coach.  Thom brings a vast amount of experience to his coaching.  


His coaching career started as the GK Coach at Marymount University from 1998-1999 after he finished up his collegiate career at Marymount University where he was an All Capital Athletic Conference Goalkeeper.  After moving back to Pennsylvania in the summer of 1999, Thom became the GK Coach at Lower Merion Soccer Club.  Thom also worked as a GK Trainer for the O.D.P. Program in 2001 and then eventually signing on as the Head Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach for The F.C. Delco Fury II from  2002 – 2009.  The F.C. Delco Fury II were the most successful girls team in F.C. Delco Club history appearing in the USYSA National Tournament (Semi- Finalists) from 2008-2010, EPYSA State Cup Champions from 2005-2010 and winning numerous tournaments such as The Bethesda Classic and The Jefferson Cup. 


Thom is the Shipley School Varsity Boys Soccer Coach  (#13 Top Drawer Soccer National Ranking in 2015) and also works at Shipley as an Elementary School Teacher.  Thom also holds both his NSCAA National Goalkeeping License as well as his NSCAA National Coaching License.  Since becoming the head coach at Shipley his teams have won 8 Friends League Championships and made it to the State Sem Finals.  Since 2006, Schauerman has helped the Shipley Varsity Boys Soccer team to a record of  156 Wins, 32 Losses, 20 Ties.
